Beaches

There are ample beaches to explore providing the whole family with a real taste for this idyllic and stunning coastline. Hidden coves and beach restaurants will provide much entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

Praia de Albandeira

Situated along one of the most beautiful sections of the Algarve coastline. From the EN125, near the international school at Porches one follows the road to Benagil. Approx. 3.5km, a dirt road on the left leads to a parking lot near the beach. The rock overhang provides ample shade to sun-sensitive bathers.

Carvoeiro Beach

The town beach of Carvoeiro is very picturesque and ideal for swimming, it is well known, with the result that in the summer months of July and August, the barely 200m long sandy beach is often overcrowded with sun worshippers. Carvoeiro beach has wheelchair access. If you fancy you can go for a stroll and have lunch in one of the many bars and restaurants.

Caneiros Beach

Near Ferragudo only 5-10 mins drive from Villa Vale da Pinta is a perfect family friendly cove beach. Backed by cliffs its blue horizons broken only by a cormorant-frequented rock stack. Guests can enjoy a superb breakfast lunch or dinner of grilled fish at the beachside restaurant Rei das Praias while the sun sets on the beautiful horizon. Children can play safely late into the evening on the sands below.

Carvalho Beach

Steps down to this wonderful sheltered beach. First you have to find it down a tunnel in the rocks, but there are many strange ways that lead to this beach. Once you have found it you shall be glad you did. Parking is excellent.

Praia Grande

If you have children and they like to combine eating with playing in the sand try taking them to Praia Grande beach at Ferragudo. The beach is stunning and long, with a castle and a park for them to explore. There are two restaurants, one is called Praia Grande which is always enjoyed by the locals and the other is to the left down the steps which serves fantastic hot stone steak.
